Riparian Areas Regulation (RAR) Assessments
AquaTerra personnel have successfully completed in excess of forty (40) detailed RAR reports for residential and commercial developments throughout British Columbia and have completed the optional training program to ensure that each project moves forward without delay. Reports are provided to the client and uploaded to the provincial RARNS website for review and approval. Once approved, municipalities are authorized to proceed with their own development permit approvals process.
Whereas numerous municipalities have adopted the RAR methodology, certain municipalities have retained the older Streamside Protection Regulation (SPR) standards, which have been incorporated into municipal by-laws. In this case, reports summarizing on-site aquatic features and the recommended setback are typically required as a component of a Development Permit Application.
